Reports to Kitchen Managers

Summary/Objective

Wash and clean tableware, pots, pans and any and all cooking equipment. Keep the dish room and equipment clean and organized.

  1. Load, run, and unload dish machine
  2. Keep the dish machine clean and report any functional or mechanical problems immediately
  3. Monitor dish machine water temperature to ensure sanitary wash cycle
  4. Wash and store all tableware and kitchenware
  5. Keep dish room clean and organized
  6. Assist kitchen when needed
  7. Maintain adequate levels of clean tableware for dining room and kitchen
  8. Bag and haul dish room, back of house (BOH) and front of house (FOH) trash to dumpster at designed times
  9. Handle tableware carefully to prevent breakage and loss
  10. Maintain adequate levels of dish detergents and cleaning supplies
  11. Clean food preparation and production areas as required

Additional Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Assist kitchen when needed
  2. Handle tableware carefully to prevent breakage and loss
  3. Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the kitchen manager or immediate supervisor

Physical Requirements

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  1. Consistently work in hot, wet, humid environment for long periods of time
  2. The employee is consistently required to walk, balance and stoop, kneel or crouch.  The employee must always be able to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Employee must be able to work consistently in a standing position for long periods of time of up to 8+ hours.
  3. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Qualifications, Certificates and Experience

  1. Must pass pre-employment physical and drug screen test.
  2. Possess a current Food Safety Certificate
  3. Prior restaurant experience needed but not required.
  4. Legal to work in the U.S.

Typical Work Hours/Schedule

  1. Part time variable hour employee
  2. Work schedule will vary according to the operational needs of the business.   Day, evening and weekend work will be required as job duties demand.
